Framer lets designers ship the website themselves: lay out responsive pages on a canvas, add motion, connect a CMS and publish to a custom domain. For marketing sites and portfolios it often replaces the design-to-development handoff entirely.

Choose it when the team designing the site should also own it after launch. Content editors work in the built-in CMS, and staging, version history and localisation cover what a growing marketing site needs.
