Native
Concept
Native positions itself as a “digital craft house”—small enough to obsess over pixels, large enough to ship global platforms. The site therefore reads like a live credentials deck: a single scroll reveals philosophy, flagship work and process, turning credentials into a kinetic narrative that sells expertise without slides.
Visual Language & Motion
A deep-ink backdrop sets the stage for full-bleed case-study videos that fade up on intersection, each stamped with a monospace project code (N-01, N-02 …). Hover and the reel pauses, allowing you to scrub with the cursor—mini speed-ramping that doubles as proof of attention to detail. Headlines in Monument Grotesk stretch the full grid while micro-glyphs (⟶, №, •) act as subtle way-finders. Accent colour is a single pulse of electric cyan, reserved for CTA outlines and interactive data points—restraint that heightens every click.
UX & Performance
Hero loops encode to AV1 and lazy-load only on ≥1024 px screens; mobile visitors see a still poster, keeping LCP ≈ 1.2 s even on 4 G. IntersectionObserver prefetches the next case video two screens ahead, so playback feels instant without bloating memory. prefers-reduced-motion
swaps hover scrubbing for simple poster swaps and freezes grid glides. Sticky nav shrinks to a 40 px icon bar after 80 px of scroll, giving content priority while keeping orientation clear. Colour contrast passes WCAG AA, and tab order follows visual flow for screen-reader parity.
Takeaway
Native Inc. illustrates how discipline fuels emotion: minimal palette, precision grid and ruthless performance budgets deliver an experience as polished as the work it showcases—proof that a portfolio can sell capability through the very medium it celebrates.
