Johny Vino

What it is

Johnyvino.com is the personal portfolio and professional archive of Johny Vino, a Human Interface Designer at Apple. The site documents his contributions to iOS features like Maps and Offline navigation, alongside his previous work in finance, healthcare, and automotive industries.

Structure & content

The site is organized into chronological and thematic sections, beginning with current work at Apple followed by a section titled Across Products and Industries. It includes a dedicated area for Sharing the Craft which lists workshops and talks, a Kind Words section for testimonials, and an After Hours section detailing personal interests like photography and gardening.

Why study it

This site provides a specific example of how to document contributions to large-scale OS features, such as iOS 17 Maps Snippets and iOS 16 Offline Maps, where the designer cannot show full internal processes. It also demonstrates a clear separation between professional product work and educational contributions like Skillshare classes and international workshops.
