BASEMENT FOUNDRY

What it is

Basement Foundry is a retail platform for typefaces created by basement.studio. It serves as a catalog and storefront for various font families, providing technical specifications and licensing information for designers.

Structure & content

The interface is organized around a vertical catalog of typefaces such as Basement Grotesque, Adhesion, and B-Mecha. Each entry displays the number of styles, weights, and glyphs, accompanied by character previews and options to explore or purchase. A navigation menu provides links to the full font list, the End User License Agreement, and social media channels.

Why study it

The site uses a structured data approach to font previews, explicitly listing glyph counts and style variations for every product in the main feed. It also features a mode-switching interface for individual font entries, allowing for different visual presentations of the character sets.
