Design notes

iA Writer treats the written sentence as the main unit of the interface. Precise typography, restrained editing chrome and Focus Mode—which dims surrounding text—create a workspace that guides attention without adding another layer of controls.

Markdown remains editable as plain text, with preview and document navigation available when needed. Its design is worth studying for the way reading, writing and organising are separated into clear states while maintaining one consistent visual language.
